Our Trustees are hand picked for their skills and experience, meaning the Trail Pot is in safe hands

Chris Maloney

Chris is the founder and brains behind the Trail Pot. An award winning campaigner, fundraiser, mountain biking ambassador and leader. Chris has been involved in mountain biking development for over 15 years. He set up Keeper of the Peak, and has been involved with Peak District MTB for the past decade, and as Chair for the last two. He was instrumental in raising funds to protect Cut Gate path and is dedicated to opening greater access for riders.

Chris brings a wealth of professional experience to The Trail Pot, with 20 years of working in communications in FTSE 100 companies.
Based in Sheffield, he continues to champion the mountain biking community passionately.

Richard Maloney

A lawyer with over 25 years experience working in a number of multinational organisations, Richard’s expertise, counsel and guidance is an essential contribution to the Trail Pot’s board of Trustees..

Chris Heseltine-James

Chris is a service manager in Children’s services in Sheffield. He has a variety of qualifications in therapeutic interventions and is a passionate mental health advocate. With a background in Physical Education and Sport, Chris was the owner of Alliance MTB Coaching for over ten years and is a keen MTB rider and Trail Builder. Chris is a UK Ambassador for Knolly Mountain Bikes and is responsible for the Trail Pot website and media. A photographer and videographer, Chris is keen to support Trail Pot supporters in communicating their passion for MTB and the reasons they want to support, so do get in touch with him via Insta or the contact section to be featured

Iain Thomson

Iain is Managing Director of Bellona Advisors, a strategic advisor to a number of the UK’s leading Real Estate and Energy businesses. He was previously Head of Communications & Investor Relations for a number of publicly listed firms on the London Stock Exchange and has over two decades experience in the regeneration of the North of England and the Midlands across the private, public and third sectors.  Crucially for the Trail Pot, this included chairing a Doncaster-based Community Interest Company, Flying Futures, which delivered a number of key Government programmes to improve youth participation in sports and arts and reduce youth exclusion in education.
